The reverse features a detailed portrayal of the ceiling of the “Temple of Love,” which is close to the private rooms of Marie Antoinette, located inside the château de Versailles. Marie Antoinette would sit within the perfectly round Temple of Love, designed in 1778 by her favorite architect Richard Mique.
