Obverse: The portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse, encircled by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "COOK ISLANDS" and "20 DOLLARS." The effigy is surrounded by a complex, multi-layered array of mechanisms and interconnecting gears, with the word "STEAMPUNK" curving through it. The Queen's likeness was created by Ian Rank-Broadley, a renowned British sculptor.
